Some great news. Having been invited to help break the deadlock that was holding up the Stanground Surgery expansion for what seems like an age, we are pleased to advise that we have managed to get all the parties together and  have reached an agreement so the long overdue expansion can finally go ahead. We have signed up with Citizens Advice Bureau to a more considered approach to chasing debt.
We have set up a budget and approach to helping residents who had no chance of paying off council tax debt.
We fought and defeated the planning application to build an Anaerobic Waste Plant near Park Farm. Read more …..
We built a Dementia Resource Centre.
We work closely with the Disability Forum to ensure we consider their needs.
We involved numerous voluntary groups in developing our digital inclusion strategy.
We are working with an organisation representing the blind on better ways of getting around town centre.
We put better disabled access in from station to town.

We have listened re Rhubarb and are looking to see if we can maintain bridge whilst seeking funding.
We have updated or built new all secondary schools at huge cost.
We have improved many primary schools.
We have committed £3m to improvements in Lincoln Road area.
We have worked with Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses bid for work.
We fought and defeated the planning application for a Burger King Restaurant at the Horsey Toll Service Station, the Subway being a much better option. Read more…..
We established selective licensing to improve areas and rented housing.
We funded a sports facility and pool when most councils were closing theirs.
We made Fletton Quays happen after years of neglect when others said it could never be done. Its been an eyesore for far too long. Read more…..
We are also are working towards an arts hub on Fletton Quays.
We funded museum improvements.
When Peterborough United Football Club were in trouble we funded the purchase of the ground so supporters did not lose the club.
We lobbied for and secured a promise of improvements to the Pondersbridge/Whittlesey Road junction and the Amazon Roundabout junction in the Local Transport Plan. Read more…..

We set up Operation Can-do to help one of our most troubled areas.
We have, despite huge reduction in grant funding, ensured adult and children’s social care is fully funded.
We work constantly on community cohesion and have a great track record.
We work with TACT to increase foster care numbers.
We launched the ‘Clean It Up’ campaign during Summer 2017. Over 60 signs have been stenciled along footpaths in Park Farm & Cardea and over 50 rolls of poo bags have been handed out to local dog walkers. Read more…..

We established a centre to help women into business.
We ensured the city centre is thriving and shops occupied by regenerating it with awful corn exchange knocked down and new St John’s Square built / church rejuvenated.

We have kept council tax low (fifth lowest in country – £400 less than some) despite budget challenge that gives.

When economy was struggling we supported e.g. Art in the Heart to fill empty shops.
We improved super fast broadband coverage through “Connecting Cambridgeshire” project.
We brought gigabit broadband to the city to help attract better jobs.
We work closely with City College to help disabled into work.
We are bringing a university to the city so we can educate and keep our most talented young people in this area.
We offered free solar to all residents.
We have saved residents large amounts through Peterborough / OVO energy partnership.
We put solar panels on a large number of schools.
We have worked constantly to improve number of residents queries at first point of contact.
We have delivered 130 properties for temporary accommodation for homeless in last year with many more in pipeline.
We have a low number of people living on the streets and work to ensure a place to stay for any who want it.
We are providing a range of apprenticeships.
We ensure all key suppliers have a plan involving community work.
We implemented a 20mph speed limit around Heritage Park Primary School in Park Farm. Read more…..
