I am writing to advise you that from Monday 12th August 2019 highway improvement works to the cycleway and carriageway will commence on Whittlesey Road at the junction with South
Street and Fletton High Street and around the two mini roundabouts.

The construction phase will last for approximately ten weeks.
The proposed works will include new kerbing throughout the full extent of the works, widening of the footways to create shared cycle route use. New crossing points on all four roads on approaches to the roundabout to improve pedestrian safety and full resurfacing of the carriageways and new cycleway.

The work will be completed in three phases. During this time road closures will be in place.

Phase 1 – Road closures on Whittlesey Road with no through access, with diversion in place.

Phase 2 – Fletton High Street and South Street Closed, with diversion in place.

Phase 3 – Complete closure of works.

Access to properties will be maintained at all times, but please be patient as there may be delays. The City Council and its Contractor will take every opportunity to ensure that the
works progress with the minimum of inconvenience but should it be necessary to restrict access to premises for a short period, your assistance and co-operation would be appreciated.

Executive Director: Steve Cox
