“If more bins were to become available, where would you put them?”
Many of you replied and four particular areas were highlighted as litter prone areas.
It has to be remembered though that the costs involved are not just the actual cost of the bins but also the costs of adding them to be emptied under the Amey contract. I’d hoped to maybe get one or two so I’m very pleased to advise that I’ve now secured all four which will go at the following identified locations.
- Park Farm Way/Whittlesey Road Footpath
- Ellwood Avenue Bus Stop
- Ellwood Avenue/Coneygree Road Junction (Fenman End)
- Green Wheel at the bottom of Framlingham Road towards Horsey Toll Bridge
We’re still picking up a good bag full of litter on the regular fortnightly litter picks so hopefully these new bins will get plenty of use. More info here
I hope you’ve also noticed the ‘Clean It Up’ signs on the footpaths, the repairs of footpath cracks and the green wheel footpath/cycleway throughout the ward and the cutting back of the shrubs on Park Farm Way as you enter from Whittlesey Road. Street signage will also be getting some attention soon. This along with the promised fence repairs around the Scott Close play area and at the bottom of Framlingham Road, the soon to come replacement NHW signs for Harlton Close and a couple of others, our ward is getting good spruce up for Christmas.
